1,306,315 times the proverbial bell has rung in the past 12 months alone. The number is astounding, but not surprising.
And in the past six years, that same bell has run a total of 10,908,336 times.
The bell represents each bankruptcy case filed in the United States. One more individual, family or business that has found itself facing insurmountable debts and needing help. One more life upturned, many sleepless nights fraught with anxiety.
How many of these lives could have been helped with information from a credible source, someone who could guide them through the dark night of financial uncertainty?
How many of these lives remain uncertain even after bankruptcy, still without real help about getting back on their feet?
Too many.
And that’s exactly why we’re here today: to begin the process of helping those who are either in debt, headed down the rabbit hole, or just coming back into the light. Maybe you’ve been through a bankruptcy, or maybe you’re just worried about your personal financial situation and don’t know where to turn.
Money Health Central is here to help guide you through the darkness.
Organized by a group of lawyers who have seen and heard it all by virtue of long careers helping people get out of debt, Money Health Central seeks to give you realistic solutions and ideas to keep you out of debt, get you out if you’re already there – and help you stay financially healthy.
We know what you’re going through, what you have gone through, and what you can expect in the future, and we will share the lessons learned from those who have passed through our offices to empower you to find that brighter future.
Hey, one or two of us might have made some mistakes of our own from which readers can learn.
It’s an audacious goal, isn’t it? To single-handedly change the face of America by giving you what no school or organized education does. But we know it can be done, one person at a time.
As we get to know one another, you’ll also hear the voices of those who have been through debt and survived. You’ll learn how to avoid repeating their mistakes, and how to live debt-free. We’ll talk about savings, spending, debt and credit. But beyond that, we’ll talk about your financial life and how to make it better.
What would you like us to talk about? Let your voice be heard in the comments – and tell everyone you know that there’s a new place to find all the information you want and need about your money and your life.

Jay,
What an awesome concept! Yes, we need to talk about financial literacy and figure out how to get more of it in the schools and colleges. We need to look at money beliefs and cultural messages about money and debt that block us from taking care of ourselves emotionally and financially. And I have a special interest in helping women thrive around money and finance -whether professionally and personally.
Thanks to my friend and colleageu Leanna Hamill, an attorney as well, I have found you and will share the word with others as well.
